Redfest Bristol 1 – 5 August 2012 – It’s getting near!

This year’s Redfest Bristol festival is on the horizon, and there’s really not long to go….

It’s certainly diverse. From a live score on piano for Buster Keaton’s classic film Sherlock Jr on Wednesday 1st August to a drum and bass session at the Old Stillage on Sunday night!

In between we have kids films, live music including African Blues Connection and Rat City Riot (from the USA), and of course the Redfest All Dayer in St George Park on Saturday.

This year it’s going to be bigger and better than ever, with events starting at 11am. There are kids activities, including singing workshops and storytelling, all of which can involve parents too.The Kids and Family programme of events is listed here.

The live music starts at 12pm and this year will run until 9pm. We’ve got an eclectic selection of live bands from Balkan flavoured folky ska to breezy jazz and a great headline band to finish the event in Magnus Puto. See the full line up here.

Alongside the music there will be over 20 stalls selling everything from vintage clothing to art and jewellery. There will also be great food and drink on offer including Gordons Caribbean based on Church Road, The Real Olive company and more.

Other brilliant stuff happening: drama workshops at the community centre all day – provided by Travelling Light Theatre Company (Redfest are so excited to have them on board).

And of course, a full afternoon line up at Cafe Grounded including some of the best folk and blues acts in Bristol.

Come along, bring your friends and let’s celebrate Redfield, St George and Whitehall and have a great time doing it.
